From Fire to Frames: ‘Beauty For Ashes’ Exhibitions

The past three months have been busy beyond belief. If you’ve followed me on social media, you will have seen some of the paintings I've done documenting the aftermath of the Eaton Fire in Altadena. The series title is ‘Beauty For Ashes’. You can also see images on my Home page and get more information on the About page.

I enjoy looking at the work of other artists. Seeing it online is convenient, but nothing can beat the experience of standing in front of the actual work.

You can stand in front of my actual paintings at CAAM (African-American Museum) in Los Angeles. The show runs from April 15th through October 12th.

I also have a couple of paintings from the series at the Barnsdall Gallery, also in Los Angeles. That show opens on June 7th and closes August 2nd.

The next best thing to standing before the actual painting and better than viewing online is standing before a collection of near identical *prints of the series. Altadena library will be hosting the largest set of paintings parentheses over 30). There will be a soft opening on April 23. The reception will be on May 2 from 6:30 PM till 8 o'clock. I hope to see you there: especially my neighbors Altadena.

*Prints for Altadena Library are being shown for two reasons.
1. I am showing before and after images. I no longer own many of the original ‘before’ paintings, so prints are necessary.
2. Altadena Library, my favorite library, does not have security staff to tend the gallery during open hours.

Note: Check galleries for days and hours open.
