Beauty For Ashes
Paintings of Altadena — before and after the Eaton Fire.
On January 7, 2025, the Eaton Fire destroyed more than 9,000 homes and businesses — many of which Keni had painted on-site (en plein air) over 40 years.
From that destruction, Keni saw the possibility of beauty. And so began Beauty For Ashes — a watercolor series he continues to paint on the streets of Altadena, bearing witness until a new community rises from the ashes
