Customer Service

The first line repeats. Hoping to resolve this issue soon.

Since it was raining today, I offered to drive my daughter to her appointment. When we arrived, she checked in. I asked one of the receptionists if they had a cafe or place where I could get a cup of coffee. He asked, “What do you like in it?” I replied, “One cream and one sugar.”

He went away, then returned…about 20 minutes later with a cup of coffee. I was very grateful that he was offering me a free cup of coffee, so I didn’t ask, “What took you so long?” I’m glad I didn’t because he told me that he got in trouble for getting the coffee for me. The employee provided great customer service and was scolded by his employer. Sad.

Whoever reprimanded him for providing good customer service should take a lesson from the one he chewed out.

BTW: It looks like I’m here all alone :-/

  1. Keni,
Just wondering, was the employee getting coffee from the office in house machine or did they walk down the street to a coffee shop for your coffee?

If the management person chewed them out for providing great service when no other persons were delayed or inconvenienced by the kind front office service, then perhaps we should send them a copy of Ray Considine’s book on customer service, W.A.Y.M.I.S.H. (Why Are You Making It So Hard to Give You My Money!)

I would have been happy to have this office person on our crew. This kind service is so few and far between now, that owner is blessed to have this person in their employment, they just do not see it!

PS. Send me their address by pm and we will get them a copy…

    1. As you can see by the photo, there was not a rush at the front desk. The coffee was not in a commercial cup, so I suppose it came from an in-house coffee machine.
The character of the guy who got me the coffee was that of a man who would go out of their way to help someone.
It’s kind of you to offer the book to that person. I’m not sure I should take this any further.
